Man wounded following a vehicle-pedestrian collision on Chemical Drive near Finley (Kennewick, WA)

One man is getting treatment in hospital after officers with Washington State Patrol say he was struck by a car while crossing a major roadway in Kennewick.

Officers actively responded to the area of Route 397 and Chemical Drive near 10th Avenue in Kennewick just before 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Manuel Gutierrez, 29, was rushed to a nearby hospital to get medical aid for his injuries according to WSP.

This comes after police say he passed the roadway as Alfredo J. Gonzalez, 67, was traveling northbound on Route 397.

According to a press release from WSP, Gonzalez was not injured and is not being booked.

The roadway was later cleared and opened for traffic again.
