Man succumbs to his injuries days after a hit-and-run crash in Long Beach (Long Beach, CA)

Authorities confirmed that a man died of injuries he suffered after being hit by a car on Dec. 21 in Long Beach.

The fatal hit-and-run crash took place on Atherton Street near Montair Avenue at about 10:15 p.m. According to the investigation reports, the man was crossing Atherton, outside of a crosswalk, near Montair Avenue when he got struck by the vehicle. The vehicle left the scene after the collision.

Officials believe that the vehicle that hit the man was a silver Sedan traveling west on Atherton. The man succumbed to his injuries on Monday. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are made available.

The incident remains under active review.
