Man seriously injured following a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 5 (Redding, CA)

A man sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday on Interstate 5.

As per the initial information, the hit-and-run accident took place at about 7 p.m. near the Knighton Road off-ramp. The early reports showed that an unknown vehicle hit a male pedestrian and left the scene.

On arrival, first responders performed CPR on the victim, who received facial injuries. There was also a protected pedestrian walkway across the east side of the bridge, but it is unknown if the pedestrian was using it during the crash. No details are available regarding the suspect or the hit-and-run vehicle. No other information is available.

The incident remains under active review.
