On early Tuesday morning, a man lost his life following a rollover crash in SE Houston.
As per the initial information, the fatal single-car accident took place in the southbound lanes of the I-45 Gulf Freeway near Scarsdale Boulevard at about 4:45 a.m. The early reports showed that a gray Chevrolet Impala driven by a man was heading southbound on the freeway when he tried to pass another vehicle. He reportedly changed lanes aggressively and, as a result, lost control of the Impala.
Afterwards, the vehicle hit the concrete divider, spun and rolled upside down. It came to a stop next to the concrete divider. A passenger in the Impala and bystanders extricated the driver from the vehicle because they thought it might catch fire. The male driver was declared dead at the scene. The passenger remained unharmed in the accident. No further details were provided.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
