On early Thursday morning, a man suffered injuries after his pickup was carried away by floodwaters in San Antonio.
As per the initial information, the incident took place shortly after 3 a.m. The preliminary investigation showed that the man’s vehicle accidentally went into high rushing water off Southwell Road, close to Huebner Road on the Northwest Side. According to the officials, the pickup and trailer were carried a few hundred feet downstream to Verbena Street.
The driver reportedly got on the roof of his vehicle and called 911 for help. Rescuers brought in a boat to save him. The man was transported to the hospital for precaution. No other injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
