Man injured after a car hits a tree in an attempt to pass a snow plow in Mottville Township (Mottville Township, MI)

A 23-year-old Indiana man suffered life-threatening injuries after a car hit a tree in St. Joseph County.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle accident took place near Burke Road on US-12 in Mottville Township. The preliminary reports indicated that a 23-year-old man was heading eastbound on US-12 when he attempted to pass another vehicle and a snow plow.

Just then, the man failed to maintain control of the car and struck a tree. On arrival, emergency crews rushed the man to Elkhart General Hospital with critical injuries. No other details have been provided by the officials.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
