A man in his mid-60s was left with critical injuries after being struck by a car Monday night on the city’s West Side.
As per the early reports, the victim didn’t see a car when he crossed the street at about 6:02 p.m. in the 5700 block of West Commerce, close to SW 36th Street. On arrival, first responders rushed the man to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and is not expected to be charged. The identity of the injured pedestrian has not been released at this time. No other details were provided by the officials.
The incident remains under investigation.
