Man in critical condition after an auto-pedestrian collision in Orange (Orange, CA)

A man suffered critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Orange.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian crash took place at about 6:48 a.m. on Struck Avenue and Batavia Street. The early reports revealed that a man was driving a Toyota pickup truck east on Struck Avenue and turned north at Batavia Street.

At the same time, a male pedestrian was walking east in the crosswalk and got hit by the Toyota. On arrival, emergency personnel rushed the victim to a local hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the involved vehicle stopped near Katella and Batavia.

Officials believe that alcohol and drugs were not involved in the accident. All lanes of Batavia were shut down from Struck to Katella for around three hours as crews worked at the scene. No other details are made available.

The incident remains under investigation.
