A man was critically injured after a traffic collision in the Sunset Acres neighborhood.
As per the initial information, the authorities actively responded to the area of Jewella Ave. and W 70th St after getting reports of a single-vehicle crash just before 8:00 p.m. The early reports indicated that the man was speeding south on Jewella Ave when the vehicle struck the median, went into the northbound lanes and then slammed into a tree.
On arrival, first responders rushed him to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities believe that he might have experienced a medical emergency that caused him to crash. Traffic in the area was impacted during the investigation and cleanup. No other details are available.
An investigation is underway.
