On Thursday, a man suffered injuries after getting struck by a vehicle in Merced while officers arrested 24-year-old Devin Jacob Badillo, from Winton who initially fled the scene after hitting the man.
As per the initial information, the hit-and-run crash took place near West Santa Fe Avenue and N Street at about 12:30 pm. The preliminary investigation revealed that Devin Jacob Badillo got into an argument with the man. After that, Badillo struck the man with his vehicle and left the scene.
On arrival, medics transported the victim to a local hospital with moderate injuries. Officers tracked down Badillo at his home and arrested him. He was booked into the Merced County jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. No other details are immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
