A man was fatally struck by a car after coming out of his vehicle on I-10 to check on a previous accident.
As per the initial reports, the man stepped out of his vehicle early Sunday morning because of a preceding crash with another car. At that point of time, another driver fatally struck the man when he was passing the first accident.
On arrival, emergency responders rushed the victim to the hospital at about 1:40 a.m., but he succumbed to his injuries at 3:42 a.m. Police stated that driver who hit the victim left the car at the scene and ran away on foot. Police are actively searching for the hit-and-run driver. Officials will reveal the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin.
The crash remains under review.
