A man lost his life after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday night in Hayward.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place on I-880 just north of Warren Avenue. The preliminary reports showed that a man was walking on I-880 when a vehicle hit him. The authorities actively responded to scene at 9:45 p.m.
The male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by the officials. The driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
