A man lost his life following a two-vehicle accident Saturday morning in Santa Rosa.
As per the initial information, the fatal car crash took place at around 6:45 a.m. on Bennett Valley Road. The preliminary reports showed that a man driving a silver Volkswagen Beetle slammed into trees. The reports also revealed that the man was heading east on Bennett Valley Road at a high rate of speed when it drove past a car across a double yellow line.
The driver then failed to maintain control of his car, traveled into the westbound lane and shoulder and rammed into two trees. Due to the impact, the Beetle was sent back to the road where it collided with a westbound Nissan Pickup.
The Nissan had minor damage but its driver remained unharmed in the accident. The other driver was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The Bennett Valley Road was closed down for more than two hours while crews worked at the scene. No other details are available.
The accident remains under investigation.
