Man dead after being hit twice on Highway 70 (Oroville, CA)

A man was killed after being struck twice Thursday on Highway 70.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place on the highway, south of Palermo Road. The preliminary reports showed that the man was attempting to get his dogs after they ran out onto the highway.

At some point of time, a truck traveling at 65 mph hit him. After some time, another vehicle struck him. The man died of his injuries at the scene. The drivers of both vehicles called 911 and cooperated with the investigators. Drugs and alcohol did not contribute to the accident. No other information is available.

The incident remains under investigation.
