A man lost his life after being hit by several vehicles on I-40.
As per the initial information, the Knoxville Police Department responded to the area of I-40 West, close to the Pellissippi Parkway exit ramp on Sunday at about 4:00 a.m. after getting information of an auto-pedestrian accident.
After arriving at the scene, authorities discovered a man who had been struck by multiple vehicles. The man was declared deceased on the scene by the officials. The preliminary investigation showed that the victim was walking on or near the interstate when a vehicle hit him. The driver of that vehicle called 911 for help. No other details are immediately.
The crash remains under active review.
