On Wednesday morning, a man lost his life after getting struck by a vehicle in north Austin.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place at the intersection of Rundberg Lane and Lamar Boulevard at about 3:10 a.m. The early reports showed that the van was traveling north on Lamar Boulevard and the truck was heading west on Rundberg Lane when both the vehicles collided.
The impact of the crash pushed the van into a person standing at a nearby bus stop. Lamar was closed at one block north and south of Rundberg, but Rundberg Lane is open. Officials said that Lamar should be back open by 6:30 a.m. Both drivers remained at the scene, but it is unknown if they will face charges at this time. No other details are immediately available.
The incident remains under investigation.
