On Saturday, a 42-year-old man, from La Vergne, lost his life following a traffic collision in South Nashville.
As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle crash took place on Old Hickory Boulevard near Owen Drive. The early reports revealed that the La Vergne man was heading southbound on Old Hickory Boulevard in a 1990 Ford-15. As the vehicle approached a curve, it went over the double yellow lines and collided head-on with a Nissan Rogue.
On arrival, emergency crews rushed the man to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injures. Next of kin has not been notified yet. The driver of the Rogue suffered non-fatal injuries. Both men were reportedly buckled up at the time of the accident. Officers said that there was sign of alcohol in the Ford F-150.
A toxicology test will be conducted to find out whether impairment played a factor in the crash, police said. The identities of the victims have not been revealed at this time. No additional information has been provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
