Man dead after a hit-and-run crash in southeast Houston (Houston, TX)

On early Monday morning, a man lost his life following a two-vehicle collision in southeast Houston.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash took place at approximately 2:15 a.m. in the 300 block of S. Cesar Chavez Boulevard. The early reports showed that a man was riding a bicycle going south in Cesar Chavez Boulevard near the railroad tracks when a white Nissan Altima hit him from behind.

The car drove for a short distance down the street before pulling into a private parking lot. The driver of the car then fled the scene. The bicyclist suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No further details were provided.

The incident remains under active review.
