Man dead after a hit-and-run crash in Highland (Highland, CA)

On early Friday morning, a man riding a skateboard lost his life after being hit by a vehicle in Highland.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash was reported at 12:48 a.m. on the East 3rd Street, east of Tippecanoe Avenue. The early reports showed that the man was riding a skateboard in the westbound lanes of East 3rd Street when he got hit by a vehicle that was heading west.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and drove away from the scene before officers arrived. On arrival, responders found an unresponsive man lying in the westbound lanes of traffic. Despite the life-saving efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. No further details were provided.

The incident remains under active review.
