On early Sunday morning, a man lost his life following a two-vehicle accident in Nashville.
As per the initial information, the fatal car crash took place on Interstate 40 between Fesslers Lane and the I-24 junction at 1:55 a.m. The early reports showed that a Toyota Yaris and a semi-truck were involved in the collision. The semi-truck was traveling in the far right lane when the Toyota crashed into it from behind.
The driver of the Toyota, a 31-year-old Antioch man, succumbed to his injuries just after arriving at a hospital. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. The driver of the semi-truck remained unharmed in the accident.
There was no proof of alcohol or drug involvement at the scene. The eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 were shut down for some time as crews worked at the scene, and drivers were asked to use Fesslers Lane as an alternate route. The eastbound lanes have since reopened. No other details are available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
