Man dead after a bicycle crash in Houston (Houston, TX)

On Monday, a man lost his life following a two-vehicle collision in Houston.

As per the initial information, the fatal bicycle crash took place at about 10:20 p.m. near the intersection of Westheimer and Greenridge Drive. The preliminary reports showed that the bicyclist was attempting to cross Westheimer outside of the crosswalk when he got hit by a white Sedan heading eastbound.

On arrival, emergency crews rushed the bicycle rider to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The victim is described as a male in his 20s who works in the area. The driver of the Sedan was not drunk, but multiple eyewitnesses to the accident gave conflicting reports as to what happened.

At this time, officers are working to find out whether the driver initially left the scene or committed other actions that may result in criminal charges. No other details are immediately available.

The crash remains under review.
