Male pedestrian dead after being hit twice in Santa Monica (Santa Monica, CA)

A male pedestrian lost his life after being hit by a vehicle in Santa Monica, and then struck by another vehicle while he was down in the roadway.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run accident took place Saturday at about 8 p.m. in the area of 10th Street and Pico Boulevard. The pedestrian, who was described as a man in his 50s, was crossing the street when a vehicle struck him, possibly a white Dodge Challenger with red racing stripes on the hood.

That vehicle immediately left the scene eastbound on Pico without stopping to render aid to the pedestrian or call for help. Just then, a second vehicle hit the man while he was lying in the roadway. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. That second driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigating team. No other details are available.
