On Saturday, a man lost his life following a two-vehicle accident on the Northeast Side.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash took place at about 3:30 a.m. in the 6400 block of IH-35 N southbound access road. The early reports showed that a vehicle hit the bicyclist, a man in his 30s or 40s, for undetermined reasons.

The driver of the involved vehicle drove away from the scene after the collision. On arrival, responders found the rider unresponsive in the street. Despite lifesaving efforts from emergency responders, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Officials are working to search the driver of the hit-and-run vehicle. The access road was temporarily shut down as crews worked at the scene. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are made available.
