The Washington State Patrol reported a motor vehicle crash in Richland on Sunday morning. The accident happened on State Route 240 halfway between Columbia Park Trail and I-182 at around 2 a.m.
When the police arrived, they reported that a 41-year-old man had been found dead at the scene. The car that allegedly hit the man had been on the road, but it had left the scene heading east after the collision.
The name and identity of the man have not been made public.
The fatal crash is being investigated by the WSP. it is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. No further details regarding the crash are available currently.
