On Tuesday morning, a boy lost his life following a traffic collision in Camas.
As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle crash took place at 8:13 a.m. at Southeast Nourse Road and Southeast 280th Court, which is less than a mile from Camas High School. The early reports revealed that the vehicle swerved off the roadway, then hit fencing and a home. The occupants were all juveniles and they were on their way to school. One passenger, a juvenile boy, suffered major injuries and was rushed to an area hospital where he was later declared dead.
It is unknown if the other occupants in the vehicle received any injuries as a result of the crash. No one inside the home was injured. The Clark County Sherriff’s office informed the Camas School District that weather played a part in the accident, but they did not know if there were other factors that caused the collision. No other details were provided.
An investigation continues.
