A tragedy struck in the Sun Village area of Los Angeles County’s Antelope Valley as a man and a woman lost their lives in a two-vehicle collision. The multi-vehicle accident occurred around 7:45 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of East Avenue T and 106th Street East, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Sergio Garcia.
The victims, identified as Jose Maldonado, 83, and Daphne Maldonado, 87, were pronounced dead at the fatal crash, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
Reports suggest they were trapped inside one of the vehicles involved. Video footage revealed extensive front-end damage to a red pickup and sedan, with occupants of the latter tragically losing their lives, while the pickup occupant was hospitalized in critical condition.
