The Tarrant County Medical Examiner has identified the driver killed in a wrong-way fatal crash in Burleson as Arlington resident Jose Garcia-Casas. The fatal incident occurred Sunday on Interstate 35 W’s northbound bridge over Wilshire Boulevard.
Garcia-Casas died at the scene when his pickup, traveling in the wrong direction, collided with a tractor-trailer. Burleson police spent about six hours investigating the crash and are now working on reconstructing the sequence of events.
At this stage, authorities have not determined why Garcia-Casas was driving the wrong way. The tragic multi-vehicle accident adds to the list of fatalities on Texas roads, prompting further scrutiny of the circumstances leading up to the collision.
