The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office (SFCSO) revealed details of a fatal crash that occurred Thursday evening on Highway 84/285. Reports of a wrong-way driver prompted the deputies’ response around 10:56 p.m., with subsequent reports of a head-on collision near the North Tesuque Interchange.
Authorities believe a Jeep travelling south in the northbound lane collided with a Dodge Ram heading north. The Ram’s driver, Jordan Dwyer, 26, and passenger, Landon Crossley, 26, tragically lost their lives, while two other occupants sustained injuries.
The Jeep’s driver, Scott Sullivan, 51, of California, faces charges including two counts of homicide by vehicle, two counts of great bodily harm by vehicle, DWI, and reckless driving. Sullivan was hospitalised for injuries sustained in the fatal crash. SFCSO suspects alcohol played a role in the multi-vehicle accident.
