The Texas Department Of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle crash on Saturday morning. The accident happened north of Roby. The officials have confirmed that the collision involved two vehicles.
According to the report, John Henry Williams was approaching a curve in the road while moving east of FM 57. Amarjit Singh, 30, of Atwater, California, was operating the semi-truck as it approached the same curve as it was moving south of FM 57. Williams accelerated into the curve too quickly, overcorrected, crossed the centerline, and collided directly with the semi.
The officials reported that Williams had incurred fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Singh was not injured in the collision.
The fatal crash is being investigated by the Police. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
