The Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash in Baton Rouge.
The accident happened near I-110, just north of Airline Highway at around 4:30 a.m.
According to the authorities, a light drizzle was occurring as the DPS car was traveling north on Airline Highway.
The DPS vehicle was struck head-on by a second car that was going south and was on the wrong side of the road.
The impact of the collision hurt the other car’s passenger as well as the driver of the DPS vehicle.
The offending vehicle’s driver has been identified by authorities as 33-year-old George Michael Barrow, Texas.
According to the authorities, Barrow was imprisoned on charges of vehicular negligent injury, first-time DUI, reckless driving, and alcohol possession in a vehicle.
