The New Mexico State Police reported a motor vehicle crash in Albuquerque. The accident happened at mile marker 60 on Interstate 40 westbound at around 2 p.m. The collision involved two passenger vehicles and a semi-truck.
The initial investigation by the NMSP revealed that a 2019 Toyota skidded before colliding with Flora Garcia’s 2008 Ford. The semi-truck struck the Ford broadside as it was starting to spin anticlockwise.
Garcia was fatally injured in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the release, neither the Toyota’s nor the commercial vehicle’s drivers sustained any injuries. According to the report, seat belts were worn, and alcohol consumption was not a factor. The NMSP is still looking into the fatal crash.
