Fire truck runs into apartment building after getting struck by a Sedan in San Antonio (San Antonio, TX)

On late Tuesday night, a Sedan slammed into a fire truck pushing it into an apartment building in San Antonio, displacing approximately 20 residents.

As per the initial information, the hit-and-run accident took place at about 10:40 p.m. at an apartment complex near the intersection of Hillcrest Drive and West Quill Drive, not far from West Woodlawn Avenue and St. Mary’s University. The early reports showed that firefighters were responding to a fire on Culebra Road when a silver Sedan rear-ended the fire truck.

The force of the collision sent the truck into the apartment building, taking out the stairs to a second floor and also damaging a balcony. Officials reported that several residents had to be laddered down from the second floor. Luckily, no injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

Reports further added that eight units of the apartment and 17 residents in total were evacuated until the structure could be repaired. The driver of the sedan left the scene after the crash and remained at large. Authorities have not provided any description of the driver. No other details are made available.
