Female pedestrian dead after being hit twice in Richmond (Richmond, CA)

A female pedestrian lost her life early Wednesday after getting struck twice near Hilltop Mall in Richmond, including one vehicle driven by a person who left the scene.

As per the initial information, that fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place at about 2:20 a.m. in the area of Hilltop Drive and Moyers Drive. Officers actively responded to the scene and, on arrival, found the pedestrian in the westbound direction of Hilltop Drive. Authorities confirmed that the victim was a female. She died of her injuries at the scene.

The driver of the first vehicle who struck the pedestrian continued going and did not report the collision. Moments after, a second vehicle ran down her as she was lying on the ground. The second driver, however, reported the collision, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigating team. Police are searching for the vehicle that took off and the person who drove it. No other details are available.

An investigation continues.
