Female pedestrian dead after a hit-and-run crash in Chula Vista (Chula Vista, CA)

A female pedestrian lost her life after getting struck by a vehicle Saturday evening in Chula Vista while the driver involved still remains at large.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run collision took place at about 11:22 p.m. in the 500 block of Naples Street. Authorities actively responded to the scene after getting reports that the pedestrian was in the roadway after the accident.

On arrival, responders performed lifesaving measures on the victim. Despite the efforts, the female victim was declared dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. According to the authorities, the suspect left the scene and is currently at large. No other information is available.

The incident remains under review.
