On Saturday morning, a father and daughter lost their lives following a single-vehicle accident in La Mirada.
As per the initial information, the fatal car crash took place on Rosecrans Avenue moments before 8 a.m. The early reports showed that a gray Chrysler 300 was speeding eastbound on Rosecrans Avenue, approaching Beach Boulevard, when it sheared the fire hydrant and then smashed into the power pole, knocking it to the ground.
The mangled wreckage ended up at a Shell gas station on the southeast corner of the intersection. Due to the impact, the male driver and his daughter were ejected from the vehicle. Both victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The incident did not lead to any other injuries. Crews worked to replace the power pole. No other details are made available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
