The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle crash on Monday evening. The accident happened on Interstate 10 close to Tonopah at around 5 p.m.
The collision involved a semi-truck and other vehicles. According to DPS, the semi jackknifed across all of the I-10’s eastbound lanes while towing a flatbed.
The death of at least one person has been confirmed by authorities. The name and identity of the victim have not been made public yet.
The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials. The I-10’s eastbound lanes were all closed while the crew worked to clear the scene, but they soon reopened.
