A fatal accident on the 405 Freeway in Hawthorne on Tuesday morning caused two cars to roll over, forcing closure of all northbound lanes, authorities told.
The incident, involving a Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro, took place just after 3 a.m. near El Segundo Boulevard, according to the CHP. Officers and firefighter-paramedics reached at the scene and found both vehicles on their sides, a CHP incident log said. A video revealed a body covered by a sheet near the right shoulder.
A male was found unconscious inside the Mustang, the Highway Patrol reported, but any information on the person’s condition is not available at the moment. All northbound traffic was being diverted from the 405 to the 105 Freeway as crews worked to clear the wreckage from the scene of crash.
The incident remains under active review.
