Eligia Del Rosario Morales and a child died after being hit by a vehicle in Riverside (Riverside, CA)

Eligia Del Rosario Morales and a baby lost their lives after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon in Riverside.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place at around 3:50 p.m. on Hayes Street and Roosevelt Street. The preliminary reports showed that 46-year-old driver was traveling west on Hayes Street in a blue 2020 Vary Rover.

The reports also revealed that as he turned onto Roosevelt Street, his vehicle struck all three pedestrians crossing the road. 58-year-old Eligia Del Rosario Morales, along with a baby, succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Another pedestrian received injuries and needed to be hospitalized.

The driver involved remained unharmed and cooperated with the investigators. Officials believe that drugs or alcohol did not contribute to the crash. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
