The El Cajon Police Department reported a pedestrian accident on Saturday. The accident occurred in the 1300 block of East Main Street at around 11 p.m. 

According to the officials, a 2002 black Acura was headed down the road when it crashed into a man who was walking on the road. 

The pedestrian incurred fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the man has not been disclosed but the officials have reported that he is between 70-80 years old. 

The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. 

The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated by the authorities. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
