Elderly man died following an auto-pedestrian accident in San Francisco’s Bayview (San Francisco, CA)

An elderly man lost his life after getting struck by a vehicle in San Francisco’s Bayview District on early Monday morning.

As per the initial reports, the man, believed to be about 80 years old, was killed in the auto-pedestrian accident that was reported at 5:51 a.m. Monday in the area of Phelps Street and Fairfax Avenue. The reports further said that he was in the roadway when a vehicle hit him for unknown reasons.

On the other hand, the driver remained at the scene after the accident. Authorities believe that impairment was not involved in the collision. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details were provided.

The incident remains under investigation.
