DUI Crash Kills 1, LV Raiders’ Henry Ruggs III Charged with DUI Resulting in Death (Spring Valley, NV)

Just before 3:40 am on Tuesday, LVMPD (Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department) released an official statement confirming Henry Ruggs III, 22, was driving a Chevrolet Corvette that was involved in a deadly crash near the intersection of South Rainbow Blvd and South Spring Valley Parkway.

According LVMP, after arriving on scene, a Toyota Rav4 was engulfed in flames. After fire response was able to extinguish the vehicle, a deceased victim was found inside the Rav4 vehicle. An initial investigation showed that the front of Mr. Ruggs car had collided with the rear end of the victim’s vehicle.

Las Vegas Police also noted that Ruggs remained on scene where he “showed signs of impairment.”  and was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for “non-life-threatening” injuries. He was ultimately charged with a DUI resulting in death.

Attorney’s David Z. Chesnoff and Richard Schnofeld who represent Henry Ruggs have released the following statement: “On behalf of our client Henry Ruggs III we are conducting our own investigation as of this writing and ask everyone to reserve judgment until all the facts are gathered.”
