Driver rams into a utility pole after losing control in downtown San Antonio (San Antonio, TX)

A driver lost balance and smashed into a utility pole, breaking it in half in downtown San Antonio on early Monday morning.

The incident took place just before 4 a.m. on N. St. Mary’s Street and McCullough Avenue.

Police said the driver lost control and slammed into a bus stop bench, the utility pole, and then into a light post.

Afterwards, medics shifted the victim to the hospital in stable condition.

CPS Energy crews arrived on the scene to fix the utility pole.

Additionally, an investigation into the crash is underway.
