Driver, pedestrian in critical condition after a crash on the Northwest Side (San Antonio, TX)

A driver and a pedestrian were critically injured after a traffic accident Friday afternoon on the Northwest Side.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian collision took place on the southbound access road of Loop 410 at Evers Road. The early reports showed that a woman was crossing the southbound access road of Loop 410 at Evers Road when she was hit by a pickup truck just before noon. According to the authorities, the driver of the truck had a medical episode at that time.

An eyewitness said that the driver was not going excessively fast but was veering when the woman was hit. The truck then collided with a flyover column and caught on fire. Both victims were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. No other information is available.

The incident remains under review.
