Driver injured after a car slams into the front of CVS Store in Martinez (Martinez, CA)

A driver was injured after a car slammed into the front of a CVS store Thursday in Martinez.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle accident took place at the CVS at 560 Center Avenue at around 12:10 p.m. The driver received medical aid at the scene; it was not immediately clear whether she was transported to a hospital.

The early reports indicated that no one inside the store, including the customers and employees was injured as a result of the crash. Authorities are still trying to find out what caused the silver Hyundai Sonata to accelerate and smash into a wall and glass window area. Fire crews were trying to winch the car out of the store. No other details are available.

The crash remains under review.
