Driver hurt after a single-vehicle wreck on the Wapato Way Bridge in Fife (Fife, WA)

A driver was hurt after a semi-truck crash over I-5 on the Wapato Way Bridge Tuesday in Fife. The semi-truck ended up on its side, causing traffic delays in the area.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle wreck was reported at about 10:50 a.m. When responders arrived at the scene, they saw the truck’s driver sitting upright on the side of the road and boxes protruding from the semi’s cargo trailer.

The driver managed to come out of the truck and reported minor injuries. It is unknown if the crash indicated a structural danger for drivers. The area was close down during the investigation and cleanup. Delays on the bridge were expected until at least 2 p.m. Tuesday. No further details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
