On Wednesday morning, one person suffered injuries after their vehicle smashed into a home in Spring Valley.
As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place in the 1200 block of Darby Street shortly before 6 a.m. The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of an Acura sedan failed to maintain control of the car as a result of which the vehicle sheared a fire hydrant.
After that, the car plowed into the garage of a home. The car came to a stop on top of another car that was in the garage, and the impact also caused damage to another parked vehicle. On arrival, crews helped the driver from the debris and worked to turn off water that was spewing from the hydrant.
The driver was the sole occupant of the car. They were transported to the hospital with minimal injuries. The incident did not lead to any other injuries, but the American Red Cross was requested to the scene to provide assistance for the home’s three adult residents and their dog. No other details are made available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
