The Avondale Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Saturday early morning. The collision involved only one vehicle. The accident happened close to El Mirage Road and Parkway lane at around 5:22 a.m.
The male driver was declared dead when police arrived. According to Daniel Benavidez of APD, the other male passenger suffered only minor physical injuries. The name and identity of the victim have not been made public yet.
The circumstances leading up to the fatal crash are being looked into by detectives from the Avondale Traffic Bureau. El Mirage Road will be closed during the investigation in both directions from Broadway Road to Southern Avenue.
