Authorities caught a driver following a DUI accident on Interstate 80 near Dixon Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred at around 4:23 p.m. As per initial reports, an SUV flipped over into a field after crashing into an alleged DUI driver. Furthermore, officers got information of an Acura sedan moving at a dangerous speed westbound Interstate 80 near Dixon Avenue. Then, the reckless Acura driver recklessly collided with a black Mercedes SUV.
The impact caused the Mercedes to overturn in a nearby field. Additionally, the CHP confirmed that they have detained the Acura driver on DUI charges.
An investigation is ongoing.
