37-year-old Christopher J Armstrong and 3 others received injuries following a DUI-related wreck late Wednesday night near Ellensburg.
As per the initial information, the three-vehicle accident took place on Interstate 90. The preliminary reports showed that Christopher J Armstrong, a 37-year-old Mississippi man, was driving 2015 Mercedes S east on I-90 when he reportedly hit a 2014 Honda CR-V from behind.
The Honda went off the road to the right due to the impact. The vehicle came to a stop on the driver’s side about 150 feet off the road. Armstrong’s Mercedes came to a rest blocking I-90, where a 2012 Toyota Camry collided with it. Armstrong was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with unspecified injuries.
The driver of the Honda, a 58-year-old Bothell man, was flown to Harborview. A passenger in the Toyota, a 32-year-old Yakima woman, was also flown to the Seattle Hospital. The driver of the Toyota, a 38-year-old Ridgefield, Wash. resident, was shifted to Kittitas Valley hospital.
According to the authorities, Armstrong and the two occupants in the Toyota were not buckled up at the time of the collision. Troopers said that Armstrong was driving impaired and is expected to be charged with vehicular assault and driving with a suspended license. No other information is available.
An investigation is ongoing.
