Child injured after a car plowed into a home in Springfield; Cornez L Maxwell charged with DUI (Springfield, TN)

On Tuesday, a child suffered injuries after a car slammed through her home in Springfield.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place on Highway 49 E. The preliminary reports showed that 34-year-old Cornez L Maxwell was driving a 2015 Honda Accord when he failed to stay in the lane while traveling around a left curve on Highway 49 E.

Maxwell’s car hit a tree before crashing into the front of the house. The car ended up in the front room of the home. A child inside the home suffered injuries as a result of the collision. Maxwell was charged with reckless endangerment, DUI and financial responsibility. No other details are available.

The crash remains under investigation.
